the tree’s snakes
tangle to keep each other warm
deep in sleeping winter

--Amber

the old tree dances
 too slowly
for the leaves to see

--Christina

stream of passing cascades
bears the red leaves
 to where the poet wanders

--Benzene

step over the rocks
the old roots
too thirsts for the stream

--Prime

water falls fast
to purl the stream
leaves lie damp beside

--Johnny

sere roots
leaves fallen
have you seen the new birds?

--Christine Wang

leaves fallen, stream flowing
will they meet
before first snows?

--Tony

friends try to find
the time capsule
under a decades tree

--Kelvin

they fall in silence
neither the stream nor the tree
protects them

the sleeping tree
held its last leaves tight
but all are fallen now

of the maple
nourish the old pale roots

tears fall
from a woman’s eyes
when she is cutting onions

—Wang Siyu
in a circle
big glowworms besiege me
children with mid-autumn lanterns

—WanKei Chon
pale moon
erases its travelling path
until the grey of dawn

—Jorge
flower still in bloom
travels across the seabed
on the back of a hermit crab

—Benzene
sunlight on the sea
is fishing for vapour
as clouds demand

—Ferri
only one chamber empty
against his temple the cylinder spins
and then one dull click

—Yuri
riding a tricycle
tipping over, crying, having hit a stone
this fully grown man

—Susan
black and white birds
make from tree to tree
just because they are hungry

—Michael
weed floats by the shore
in among, two eyes
will you meet this crocodile?

—Tong

dark clouds
take this moon from the pond
leaving these fish friendless

—Ricky
rumbling of the plane
though thick cloud
always sends me to sleep

—Lydia
driven by the rain
splashed from home to here
doing it! two rude snails

—John

its last in the baking sun

the ship be calmed
soon planks and bloated corpses
